How to remain legally in Poland?

A. You must hold a valid Polish national visa or a valid Schengen visa issued by another Schengen Area member state.

Important: A national visa issued by another country (e.g., France, Germany) does not automatically entitle you to enter or reside in Poland. For example, a Croatian national visa does not permit travel to other Schengen countries, including Poland.

B. You may hold a valid Temporary Residence Card (TRC) issued by an EU member state.

Note: A TRC allows short-term travel (up to 90 days within a 180-day period) in other EU countries. However, it does not grant the right to work in Poland without additional authorization.

C. The declared purpose of your visa must correspond to your actual activity. For instance, a tourist visa does not permit employment.

Important: Under current Polish regulations, it is not permitted to enter Poland on a tourist visa and subsequently apply for a temporary residence permit for employment purposes.

D. Visa-free regime

Nationals of certain countries may enter Poland without a visa or an EU residence card (TRC). They are permitted to stay for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
