Financial assistance for foreigners, who apply for international protection in Poland

If You’re a foreigner in need, You may be eligible for financial assistance to cover your living expenses. There’s no requirement to visit a foreigner support center in person to apply.

Who can receive assistance?
If You live outside a foreigner support center, You may qualify for financial aid to cover your living costs in Poland, provided it is required by circumstances or stipulated by law.

Amount of Assistance:
• 750 PLN per month (or 25 PLN per day) for one person.
• 600 PLN per month (or 20 PLN per day) for two people.

How to apply?
1. Send the documents by mail:
Address: Department of Social Assistance, ul. Taborowa 33, 02-699 Warsaw.

You will need:
o A copy of the Temporary Foreigner Identity Certificate (TZTC).
o A completed application for financial assistance.
o A signed acknowledgment of understanding the social assistance guidelines.

2. Apply in person:
o At the Foreigner Service Office (ul. Taborowa 16, Warsaw).
o Or at the nearest foreigner support center.
Important! Be mindful of deadlines to avoid losing Your right to assistance.

Who Cannot Receive Assistance?
Social assistance is not available to individuals who:
• Are already benefiting from supplementary protection.
• Reside in Poland under temporary or permanent residence permits or as EU long-term residents.
• Are in care facilities or detention centers.
• Are under arrest or serving a prison sentence.
• Have humanitarian or toleration-based residence permits that have expired.

How long can You receive sssistance?
• While your application for protection is being reviewed.
• For two months after receiving a final decision granting protection.
• For 14 days after a decision rejecting or halting the process.

Assistance ends:
• 14 days after a rejection or halted application process.
• Once the deadline for leaving Poland has passed.
• Two months after other resolutions.

Additional Support
Foreigners can also receive:
• Free Polish language courses.
• Access to public schools and educational materials.
• Medical assistance, including dental and psychological care.
• Help with voluntary return to their home country.
